What is an affiliate producer?
An Affiliate Producer is an independent music producer who collaborates with UpMix Studios on a flexible, non-exclusive basis.
Affiliate Producers create music either for artists signed to UpMix Records or for their own collaborations released through UpMix Music Group. They are not employees — instead, they operate as creative partners and receive a share of the revenue (royalties or commissions) generated from their productions.
Key features

- Earn commissions – Get paid based on track performance and royalties

Scenarios
Scenario 1: The Artist Collaboration
Lina, an indie artist, wants to release a new single. UpMix connects her with Noah, an Affiliate Producer.
- Noah produces the instrumental and mixes the track.
- Lina records vocals at the producers studio or one of our studios.
- The track is released through UpMix Records.
- Both earn royalties.
Noah & Lina focuses on the creative side. UpMix handles the release.
Scenario 2: The Producer’s Own Project
Amir, an Affiliate Producer, has a finished instrumental EP he wants to release under his own name.
- He submits it to UpMix for release.
- UpMix helps finalize mastering and ensures smooth distribution.
- The EP is released under UpMix Records, and Amir earns royalties.
Amir stays independent and owns his work, but gains professional support and reach.
Scenario 3: Sync-Ready Production
Maya, an Affiliate Producer, specializes in cinematic, moody instrumentals. She submits a batch of unreleased tracks to UpMix Studios.
- UpMix selects a few to pitch for sync placements (ads, film, games).
- One track lands in a trailer for an indie game.
- Maya receives a licensing fee + royalties from sync revenue.
Her tracks get used in new contexts, and she earns from music that would’ve otherwise sat on a hard drive.
Scenario 4: The Producer or label!?
Leo, an Affiliate Producer, has built a collective of artists he regularly works with — rappers, singers, and musicians.
- He produces and manages the creative direction for their music.
- Through UpMix, Leo submits releases where he is the producer, and his artist is the primary.
- The tracks are released under UpMix Records, with royalty splits.
- UpMix helps with release planning, pr, metadata, promo, and distribution.
Leo keeps full creative control of his team while gaining a professional label partner to support, distribute, and grow their work.
